The set, which is three rulers (six edges) and the refillable water brush retail for $17.99. It’s so much easier than having to count that out! Here’s another detail that I really love- the measurements on the ruler are in 1/8 inch increments- and are labeled as such. Note: the edge under the ruler is the one where you are going to see the inside of the torn edge- something to keep in mind as you are planning. So if you have a LOT of tearing to do, this might not be a long-term solution. By the end, my left hand- the one used to brace the ruler down upon the table- was sore. I even tried “Foamies”- but that stuff just doesn’t rip! I did find that all worked pretty well- the tissue and light weight papers the easiest, of course, with a little more power and “finessing” needed to tear the watercolor paper. watercolor paper, scrapbook paper, tissue paper, Core’Dinations cardstock, vellum, and wallpaper. So the idea is simple: you position the decorative edge on the paper where you want to tear it, moisten along the edge with the included felt-nibbed water pen, and then tear.įine deckle on left side of samples, jagged deckle on right.įrom left: heavy text-weight, 90 lb. If you take a closer look, you can see the bevel on the rulers.  Perfect for hard-to-tear papers like vellum, thicker paper and card stock. The key to the tool’s simplicity is the Refillable Water Pen.  The Water Pen gives a controlled, light flow of water to moisten the paper, prior to tearing.  Use Perfect Tears to create a textured, soft, torn-paper-edge effect quickly and easily!  Ideal for scrapbook pages, cards, or any paper crafting project.ÂĮach Perfect Tear tool is made of semi-flexible, clear acrylic it is double sided, so you get two great edges from one tool, for a total of six (6) different edges in the set. Let’s see how they are described on the website: They are actually easier to use and take up less space….but I’m getting ahead of myself. (That’s TEAR as is rip, not as in cry!) Despite the mildly misleading moniker, this is a set of tools that will replace at least 6 of your pairs of fancy-edge scissors. No pinks on this card! I was tempted to add some ribbon at the top of the card but didn't have any that matched.I was on the hunt for the dark blue but didn't have any.Today I’m kicking the tires of the Perfect Tears tool set by Perfect Paper Crafting. I thought the colors were more in the "guy" palette, too. I added a little bling but didn't go over the top so that a guy might be attracted to choose the card even though there are flowers on it. I used the arrow and one of the sentiments to make a VERY bold statement using an incredibly simple layout.
